The Last Days

I can't believe the last days of school are upon us!  The energy level is reaching a crescendo for both the students and the teachers.  The most exciting happening in the art room are our completed art portfolios! Many students have already taken their portfolios home and the rest will go home this week.  I have included a checklist in side each student portfolio.  This checklist is just a way to help you talk to your child about his/her artwork.  Sometimes it's difficult to know what to ask or point out.

I am very proud of these portfolios.  They represent a lot of hard work and are a wonderful reflective tool for my students.  It is also really amazing to track the growth from August to June.

Speaking of AMAZING, our 1st grade teachers, Miss Ellery Sigler, took the portfolios one step further.  She asked her students to select their favorite piece of art out of their portfolio and write about it!  The products were so fantastic, I had to share them with you.  Thank you, Miss Sigler!  And, thank you to all you who have followed my blog this school year.  The blog will be back for the 2015-2016 school year!  Have a relaxing, fun, exciting, and most of all fulfilling summer break.
A now for the work of Miss Sigler's amazingly creative art superstars! (All written work is posted under the picture it relates to)
