Looking Up!

As the school year begins to wind down, it seems that things in the art room are winding up!  There's a lot going on.

The biggest project underway this week is the 5th grade ceiling tile project.  Most 5th graders participated in a contest for designing a ceiling tile.  Then, with the help of some amazing local artists with judging the student work (Megan Rubino, Sandy Ball, and Shirley Ruff, thank you!), 18 winners were chosen!  What a difficult job that was because they were all amazing.

Next step, the students who created the winning tile designs have selected a team to help them bring their tile design to life on a real ceiling tile.  All students in the 5th grade have a spot on a ceiling tile team and will begin work on the tiles this week.  Finally!!!

There is a grand prize too! The team that works the best together as a team, gets free passes to The Adventure Park in Nags Head! WOW! I'm even excited about this!

Would you like to see the winning tiles?  Here they are!  These are slated for our library so all students and staff can enjoy them.  I know you can't wait to see them in ceiling tile form!
