A Room in Perspective

Using Vincent van Gogh's Bedroom in Arles as inspiration, my 5th graders designed a room of their own.  We discussed how the rules of perspective apply to inside a room as well as in a landscape.  As you will see, my students enjoyed adding unique details to their rooms.  You may even want to move in!
Please enjoy this work from the classes of Sakers, Davis, and Whitehurst.

The Element of Art SPACE

My fourth graders have been learning about how to create the illusion of space on a flat piece of paper.  We use the horizon line, variation in the size of objects, overlapping and the vanishing point to accomplish this.

The following pictures represent a lot of hard work!  Please enjoy this evening walk through the pumpkin patch. These mixed media pictures were made with color pencil, sharpie and watercolor (creations by Mrs. Hutton's class)
